Welcome parents, children and visitors to the Champa Flower International Kindergarten. Champa Flower is not just a kindergarten which houses children and keeps them well fed and safe. Rather, it is a doorway to a wonderful world of exploration and creativity. At Champa Flower children are intellectually empowered and respected by teachers. Teachers see themselves as partners with parents in opening the child’s mind, in establishing the child’s confidence and in building the child’s capacity to be a productive, caring and creative individual. At Champa Flower we believe there are few things in life as magical as witnessingand participating in supporting a child in engaging in and being excited about learning.
Champa Flower Kindergarten (CFIK) founded by the Cowin Education Group, opened in September 2015after three years of preparation. Cowin already runs over 20 progressive middle and high schools with over 70,000 students in cities around China. The creation of this kindergarten supports the Cowin group in its goal toestablish a progressive educational system from Kindergarten through university for Chinese. The kindergartenprogram was designedto be a world class international kindergarten based on the most current thinking in early childhood education. The kindergarten campus is situated in a modernized building on the shoreline of the beautiful Badaguan area.
The CFIKteaching team is led by early childhood foreign expert,Dr. Paul Lieblich. The program, developed by Dr. Lieblich for the Cowin Education Group, is not only stimulating and fun for students, but also prepares them well for primary school, and lays the foundation for becoming future world citizens who are caring, responsible and productive.
Champa Flower & the Education of Young Children
金色花教學理念是基于20世紀著名的美國教育學家約翰?杜威的教育思想和全球先進的IB課程小學教育體系（保羅博士曾是IB課程學前及中小學課程的創始人及主編）。金色花從杜威“教育即生活”的教育理念中汲取到快樂游戲、主動探索成為教師傳授知識的方式，引導兒童積極自愿地投入活動，從活動中潛移默化地培養品德和獲得知識，實現生活、成長和經驗的提升。他啟發和影響了全球的先進教育者，對所有年齡段的學習者，應通過活動和探索的方式教授課程。從IB課程小學階段跨學科課程設計作為模板，建立金色花教學大綱，為兒童提供多領域的社會實踐的經驗課程。整合這兩種課程體系的優點，創建了獨一無二的，以兒童為中心，讓兒童個性化發展的金色花教學體系。Our program is inspired by the work of John Dewey, the visionary early 20th century American educator, and by the ground-breaking work found in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (Dr. Lieblich was a co-founder and co-author of the PYP). Dewey taught us that we learn best through experience; through active learning. He inspired progressive educators worldwide to develop educational programs based on “learning by doing”. The Primary Years Program (PYP), inspired us to provide a structured transdisciplinary educational experience which respects the natural development of the child. Taking these ideas, and blending them with the most current work of progressive early childhood researchers and educators worldwide, and taking his own extensive experience in early childhood education, Dr. Lieblich has created the unique Champa Flower program; A program which truly puts the nature of the child first.
Ourstimulating and openended learning experiences allow us to focus on individualchildren’s strengths and be supportive of their needs; a path that helps them reach their potential –academically, socially, emotionally and physically. This is all done in a safe and inviting environment where children are happy, supported and understood.
We aim to foster a love of learning in children and provide them with the skills they need to be adaptable and flexible in a rapidly changing world. Through modeling and making explicit our teaching, we strive towards creating a learning community in which all members are; Principled & Moral, Courageous & Confident, Resilient & Perseverant, and Caring & Responsible.

Typically, many kindergartens thought of by parents to be very good, are often little more than places where children are kept busy, happy and entertained through the day. Of course, these things are important, but the Champa Flower focus goes beyond that to igniting a desire to learn and learning how to learn.It is an approach that opens young minds to possibilities. Through the Domains of Inquiry: Wonder ~ Discover ~ Create, teachers are guided to support children in developing lifetime mindsets; ways of thinking, ways of learning, ways of living, ways of being innovative, and ways of being thoughtful caring human beings.

At CFIK students in the international division learn to speak English in a natural and fluid manner while working with native speakers of English. The English language program is not driven by workbooks and special English-only class periods, in fact there are no set books in the program. Rather, children learn English throughinquiry based activity periods led by the English teacher and by using English throughout the day in allactivities. Children quickly find that English (like all languages), is not a subject to be quizzed but atool for communication and living.

The Champa Flower Art Program run by the Cowin Art Center, include music, dance, painting classes and led by our talented teachers is based on the ABRSM learning system. It is a program filled with active music making including drama, rhythm games, and singing. Students learn to love, understand and become confident with music.
